Angor Wat Enterance

one of the main incentives to make this trip was to visit Angkor Wat, the biggest religious monument ever built. It is an architectural allegory depicting in stone epic tales of Hindu mythology and built in the 12th century. This is one of the later temples in the Angkor complex and the most elaborate.
The first picture is the main entrance, used by the king only.
The second picture is the elephant entrance. The entrance height had to include room for a platform atop to ride as well as accompanying parasols! note the bullet holes on the right in the picture which were made during the Khymer Rouge battles of the mid 70's.
