Off to our first Angkor Temple

Angkor is the name of a 400 sq km area where many temples built as early as the 9th century are located. Our "short" drive turned into a LONG ride on an unairconditioned bumpy shuttle as the driver tried to find an entrance due to the huge crowds. It was as humid and hot as i could ever remember. Turns out that everyone wanted to go where we were going. The temple site more closely resembled a state or county fair with booths, parade floats, games, family picnics and the promise of an evening concert. We trudged on by foot in search or our first temple.
