Paul Gaugin near the end of his life travelled to Tahiti and then to Hiva Oa where he lived with him Tahitian wife and family (his Danish wife and children remaining in France-penniless) until his death. We visited a small museum containing reproductions of many of his works mostly from Polynesia but some from Brittany. We have had excellent lectures about Gaugin on board,
