National Seashore Cape Cod

We spent the day driving from Brewster up the forearm of the Cape along the National Seashore. We stopped at the Visitor Center where we learned that the entire cape was actually created by a glacier moraine;  all sand with NO bedrock underneath! Amazing! The retreating glacier left huge chunks which later became ponds or bogs known as kettles.  This is a lovely view of Salt Pond with an opening to the Atlantic.

We next stopped at popular Coast Guard Beach, a "beautiful" beach on the Atlantic side.  Tropical storm Andrea was expected the next day and the weather was cool, windy and threatening.

We had planned to hike but weather was poor. We walked around Provincetown, the northern most tip of the cape,  in rain and found a great spot for lobster.

Only had 1 or 3lbs so we shared a 3 pounder! Delicious!
