This is a amazing museum on the river where we learned much about SE Asia and saw dishes salvaged from a 9th century ship recently located. The museum does a terrific job of tracing the history of trading in this area that goes way back for centuries and how the traders have influenced the evolution of the society and cultures. The Chinese, Indians, Dutch, British, and Portugese were heavily involved at one time or other, each bringing their own cultures and religions.
