Another claim to fame for the mining town of Reefton is that it was the first town in the southern hemisphere to become electrified. Also electric dimmers were invented to control this lighting. Believe it of not the dimmers are the 3 large disks on the wall below the lights.....and they still work! Monday, January 27, 2014
