Viking Museum at Borg, Lofoten islands

The low pillars in the first picture mark the exact spot where in 1981 a farmer ploughing found a Viking Chieftains 83m hall dating to the 9th century or before. It is located in Borg on one if the Lofoten Islands.
Archeologists unearthed a treasure trove of household, farming and personal items as well as all types of weaponry. An exact replica of the long house was rebuilt just a few yards away from the original site.
