Chili or Pepper Crab?
Chili or Pepper Crab! We couldn't decide so we had one of each! The other evening we took a taxi to the east side of Singapore Island to the Long Beach Restaurant. We had been there on our last visit and wanted to go again to enjoy some more crab. Crab which is locally very popular (and expensive) comes from Sri Lanka. We made our reservation as soon as we arrived in Singapore as this restaurant (the original of a chain) is very popular with Singaporeans. Last visit we had one of each preparation and couldn't remember which we preferred on our last visit. Now we remember........we both preferred the spicy pepper crab. The chili crab is covered with a fairly mild and sweet sauce which the locals also spoon over their rice or dip into with a type of fried bun similar to a doughnut.
Maybe not the same as crab from the Eastern Shore of Maryland but this Baltimore boy is enjoying them none the less!
