Upon leaving the Siq there were quite a few camels in the central plaza/square. Some of our fellow passengers road camels from the lowest part of the village back to the Treasury.

Other fellow passengers rode donkeys back up through the Siq. They were accompanied usually by young boys who urged the often stubborn and recalcitrant donkeys on. In one case the riders gave up and walked as the donkey would go no further. |
Some road horses for the last part to get back to the top. |

I was not able to get a shot of the horse AND carriage which carried the driver and two passengers. Some Seabourn travelers chose to take carriages down through the Siq and the charges was $30. At the bottom others decided they best take a carriage back up and to their surprise the charge then was at least $40! It was a bumpy and not especially comfortable looking trip. We were glad we were able to make the journey both ways on foot!
