Museum of Islamic Art, Doha, Qatar

All the oil cities are proud of their cultural enhancements.  Muscat, Oman has one of the largest Opera Houses in the world, Abu Dhabi is building an entire culture island with a branch of the Louvre, several other museums and a performing arts center.   In Doha, Qatar the cultural centerpiece is a beautiful museum of Islamic Art designed by I M Pei.  As usual my pictures don't do the subjects justice so you will just have to take my word that this museum is truly spectacular.

On the left if  huge carpet that is hundreds of years old and on the right Al is standing in the center of the museum and unfortunately the picture doesn't show the immense size of this central area which spans all four museum floors.
