Castel Sant'Angelo

This is another spot which we had not visited before. It is close to the Vatican and very near our apt.



This fortress like building began as Hadrian's Mausoleum and then in the Middle Ages became a fortress and private residence of Popes. We climbed to the top and found fantastic views.

The Dome of St Peters is in the distance.7
