Day 1 Jerusalem

As we had arrived the day before our tour began we had a relaxing "free" day to explore the old city. We are staying at the lovely new David Citadel Hotel right outside the Jaffa Gate. To our delight the breakfast buffet is amazing. You name it (except for meat!) and it's there! We both enjoyed all the fresh fruit and pastries and I enjoyed all the different salads and smoked/marinated fish.





These flowers are bouquets of Astromeria balanced in the vases!


Our only complaint is that it is near impossible to get a cup of coffee let alone espresso at our hotel. And the breakfast coffee is really weak! Late in the afternoon we found a Kosher Espresso Cafe! We ordered double tall iced lattes!


Hard to read the sign above Al's head but it says in Hebrew that it is a Kosher Cafe. To our surprise very few speak English--instead either Hebrew or Arabic.
